Danielle has studied at Bloomsburg University, University of Phoenix, and California University of Pennsylvania. She has a Bachelor of Science in elementary education k-6, teaching certification k-6 and 7-12 social studies, and is finishing her master’s in educational leadership with a principal’s certification. Before BHA, Danielle has worked as a TSS for Youth Advocate program, and as a Substitute Teacher for Pleasant Valley School District.

“I enjoy working a BHA because I feel I can make a difference. It is a privilege to be able to have a positive influence on the lives of students by modeling expected behaviors. As much as I enjoy working with other professionals, including my staff who are passionate about and committed to our students, it is the students themselves who provide a continual flood of excitement daily in my life. There simply is nothing more invigorating or humbling than to connect with a student in a way that changes that student’s life.”

Danielle began working at BHA as a substitute teacher at Packer Ridge Academy and a substitute Behavioral Consultant for BHA at Panther Valley School District. She was eventually hired full-time as the Social Studies Teacher for Packer Ridge Academy. As BHA expanded, so did the Packer Ridge Program. In 2018 the program moved to Mahoning Valley Academy, where she worked as the Student Service Coordinator. In 2019 the program moved to its current location at Willow Academy, where Danielle became the Director of the program. Her role as Director of Education is to create a positive school culture and provide strategic direction for Willow Academy. She assesses teaching methods, monitors student achievement, encourages parent involvement, communicates progress to districts, conducts 40-day meetings, evaluates transcripts, schedules classes, revises policies and procedures, facilitates restorative communication, and evaluates staff.

Willow Academy encourages student involvement within the community and school culture by emphasizing programs like Student Council, HealthyU, Yearbook/Journalism, Student of the Month, among other opportunities. Restorative communication is a vital piece of their framework that allows Willow Academy to be successful. Willow prides itself on transitioning students back to their home school while providing students with the skills required to be successful in everyday life.
